In one of my article on the Top 20 Most Visited Sites in Nigeria, it got a lot of pageviews which is quite interesting to note that Nigerians are interested in knowing such facts and figures. This post would deliberate on the top 5 ranking indigenous site.
Nairaland.com which offers a broad discussion forum for Nigerians is still at the fore front. The new entrant, 234next.com is of course news worthy beating sunnewsonline to the 4th position.
Analyzing these sites, social media has had great impact on most of the sites especially the news publishing sites except for nairaland.com which could be inferred has done a little bit of harm to its traffic considering it has highest bounce rate of the top sites, and also with competition from nigerianbestforum.com closing in the forum category.
In the news publishing category, it can be deduced that Vanguardngr.com has the highest minutes per visitors which is has a result of their new website which is the first news site to be optimized for mobile.
Here are the top 5 most visited sites in Nigeria.
