Few months ago, Twitter rolled out localized trending topics to all users, in an attempt to make them into a useful tool rather than a spam-riddled, hashtag (#). Trending topics are words or phrases that are being used by lots of tweeters, appearing on the right-hand side of your home page.
To view the trending topics in Nigeria, Click change on the ‘Trends’ section of the twitter home page and select Nigeria.
Most of the trending topics this week have been due to the current happenings (politics, entertainment, etc), while others have been for fun.
At the time of writing, localised trending topics are still newborn. For this post and subsequently, I would be reviewing twitter trends on a weekly basis.
